Jakarta, June 15 -- The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Monday at 9 a.m. local time, commencing a state visit that would include talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) welcomed the German leader with a ceremony featuring an honor guard with personnel in black ceremonial uniforms carrying weapons and military attributes.

Awaiting at the foot of the aircraft steps were Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, accompanied by Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Abdul Kadir Jailani and German Ambassador to Indonesia Ralf Beste.
