Jakarta, Oct. 27 -- Indonesia will continue contributing to the United Nations programs, including peacekeeping operations and sustainable development initiatives, Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir said here on Tuesday, reaffirming the country's commitment to multilateral cooperation.

Speaking at the UN Day event in Jakarta, Arrmanatha said Indonesia would continue supporting the global body as it faces mounting international challenges.

"We first sent the UN peacekeepers in 1957, just over a decade after we gained independence. We contributed to the establishment of UNCLOS and to various initiatives under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among other things. These are contributions we must continue," Arrmanatha said.
