Jakarta, July 8 -- Indonesia called for a people-centered, collaborative approach to shaping a global framework for artificial intelligence (AI) at the inaugural United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance in Geneva, Switzerland.

"This dialogue provides important momentum to build inclusive, people-centered global AI governance that is oriented toward development and backed by international cooperation," Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

She attended the forum on behalf of President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (July 7), introducing Indonesia's Government Regulation No. 17 of 2025 on Electronic System Governance for Child Protection (PP TUNAS).
