Jakarta, Oct. 31 -- Indonesia has revised its Second Nationally Determined Contribution (SNDC), advancing its peak emissions target to 2030, the Environment Ministry announced on Friday.

Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said the updated SNDC includes two Low Carbon Compatible with the Paris Agreement (LCCP) scenarios, projecting emission reductions of 8 to 17.5 percent.

"Indonesia remains committed to its emission reduction pledge to lead a just and sustainable energy transition," Nurofiq said in Jakarta.

The Enhanced Nationally Determined Contribution (ENDC) 2022 had estimated total emissions reaching 1,953 million tons of CO2 equivalent by 2030.
