Malang, E Java, Aug. 18 -- Indonesia's Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has reaffirmed his commitment to involving universities in the drafting of science-based environmental policies.
Speaking at Brawijaya University (UB) in Malang, East Java, on Monday, he said science provides a strong foundation to ensure policies comply with governance rules and safeguard environmental sustainability.
"We must collaborate by strengthening academic studies. This is an important basis for the Ministry of Environment when we create policy instruments," he said.
Nurofiq explained that the studies cover supervisory mechanisms and law enforcement against violators of government policies.
