President Prabowo Subianto aims to build more than 25,000 Red and White Cooperatives nationwide within three months to strengthen Indonesia's grassroots economy.

Speaking at the groundbreaking of 13 downstream industrial projects in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday, Prabowo said the government would soon inaugurate 1,000 cooperatives.

The president explained that tens of thousands more units would follow shortly after the initial launch phase.

"Soon we will inaugurate 1,000 Red and White Cooperatives, likely within two to three weeks. After that, in two to three months, we will inaugurate more than 25,000 cooperatives," he said.
