Jakarta, June 12 -- Indonesian Wushu Association (PBWI) chairman Airlangga Hartarto has targeted a gold medal for Indonesia at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, vowing to maintain the nation's strong championship tradition in the martial art.

Airlangga, who was inaugurated for the 2026-2030 term on Friday, said the target remains one of the federation's main priorities given Indonesia's strong track record in the sport at previous Asian Games.

"We strongly hope that at the Asian Games, wushu can also contribute a gold medal because in several previous Asian Games, wushu has always participated and secured gold," he said after the inauguration ceremony in Jakarta.
