Indonesia targets waste to energy projects in 12 cities by year-end
Jakarta, Oct. 6 -- Indonesia is accelerating its green energy transition with plans to break ground on waste-to-energy (PSEL) facilities across 12 cities by the end of 2026, according to Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani.
"We are confident there will be more waste to energy groundbreakings in 12 different cities between now and the end of the year," Rosan said at the opening of the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2026 in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The upcoming projects will build on the PSEL construction already underway in Greater Denpasar in Bali, Bekasi City, and Greater Bogor in West Java.
