Jakarta, April 10 -- Indonesia plans to renovate about 15,000 uninhabitable homes in border and remote regions, reinforcing its push for equitable development and improved living standards, officials said.
As head of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP), Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian said the initiative follows President Prabowo Subianto's directive to strengthen social justice, enhance regional resilience, and foster nationalism in peripheral communities.
In a statement on Friday, Karnavian said the target forms part of a broader plan to upgrade 400,000 homes for low-income households, describing the allocation as a significant step in advancing the government's housing agenda.
