Indonesia supports young film talents through Jakarta World Cinema
Jakarta, May 27 -- Minister of Culture Fadli Zon stated that the government will support efforts to strengthen Indonesia's film ecosystem, including through support for the organization of Jakarta World Cinema (JWC).
During a meeting with JWC organizers, the minister expressed hope that young talents in Indonesian cinema would be able to collaborate with senior filmmakers.
"We hope that all talented individuals in the regions will eventually have the opportunity and witness major festivals, such as Cannes," Zon said in a statement confirmed here on Wednesday.
This year's Jakarta World Cinema is scheduled to take place in late October, featuring screenings of winning films and the presentation of several honors.
