Indonesia strives to facilitate Myanmar peace dialogue: Deputy FM
Jakarta, July 16 -- Indonesia continues to actively encourage and facilitate dialogue between the conflicting parties in Myanmar to help restore peace and stability under the framework of the Five-Point Consensus (5PC).
Deputy Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir affirmed that Jakarta remains committed to bridging the divide between Myanmar's military-backed authorities and various ethnic groups.
"We continue to strive to facilitate dialogue between the military-backed authorities and the various ethnic groups there," Nasir said following a working meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Thursday.
