Jakarta, Oct. 3 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, and the International Academicians Science and Technology Innovation Center (IASTIC) of China are seeking to enhance collaboration in science and technology.

This intention was highlighted during a meeting of both parties in Jakarta on Thursday.

"We want to learn from China's rapid growth and industrialization. One of our greatest hopes is the rise of advanced science- and technology-based industries," Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto said in a statement here on Friday.

He underlined that a country's progress is determined by industrial development that is based on research in science and technology.
