Jakarta, Dec. 29 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) has urged regional governments to ensure disaster mitigation preparedness, including equipment, personnel, and budget readiness, ahead of the 2026 New Year celebrations.

"If there are needs for central government intervention to immediately declare an emergency alert status, please report them promptly so the central government can provide full support," Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said in Jakarta on Monday.
