Indonesia speeds NTT's infrastructure recovery after M7.7 quake
Jakarta, Aug. 18 -- Indonesia's Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo said his ministry is ready to support emergency response and infrastructure recovery for communities affected by the 7.7-magnitude earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
"When roads are cut off, water services stop, schools become unusable or people lose homes, the state must act to restore their lives," Dody said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The Public Works Ministry has reopened roads, restored water supplies, prepared housing and helped repair schools so communities can rebuild their lives, he said.
