Jakarta, Sept. 24 -- When addressing the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), President Prabowo Subianto highlighted Indonesia's resolve to take a leading role on global issues, Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid said.

In his speech during the 80th Session of the UNGA in New York, United States, on Tuesday (September 23), the president affirmed Indonesia's readiness to deploy 20,000 peacekeeping personnel to Gaza and other conflict-affected areas under a UN mandate.

"Mr. President wanted to show that Indonesia's peace efforts go beyond words. We are ready to share the burden by deploying troops and mobilizing funds. The message is clear: Indonesia will not remain idle," Hafid stated on Wednesday.
