Jakarta, April 8 -- Indonesia is seeking support from African, Caribbean and Pacific countries for its bid to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2029-2030, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela said the effort is being led by Deputy Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir through a series of meetings with partners from the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS).

"The discussions focused on bilateral relations and garnering support for Indonesia's candidacy for the UN Security Council for the 2029-2030 period," Nabyl said.
