Jakarta, Sept. 8 -- Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR RI) met with TikTok and Tokopedia on Tuesday to address frozen funds belonging to micro, small and medium enterprises selling through TikTok Shop, with a follow-up planned next week.

Commission VII Deputy Chair Evita Nursanty said several sellers complained on July 2 that TikTok Shop had withheld business balances worth billions of rupiah without clear justification.

Nursanty said the hearing sought clarification and a resolution rather than to determine legal liability, as the commission is not a law enforcement agency.
