Jakarta, Sept. 28 -- Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR) is developing strategies to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and transparency, aiming to maximize national gains from international forums, a senior lawmaker said on Sunday.

Ravindra Airlangga, Chair of the DPR's Committee on International Organizations, said recommendations from the committee must lead to concrete actions that improve the DPR's performance and serve the public interest.

"We are identifying ways to align DPR's role with Indonesia's free and active foreign policy-engaging globally without being drawn into power blocs," Airlangga said in a written statement.

"This helps preserve policy sovereignty while expanding diplomatic opportunities," he said.
