Jakarta, Oct. 31 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Religious Affairs has proposed five directorates and one secretariat under the new Directorate General of Pesantren.

The ministry's Secretary General Kamaruddin Amin said the structure would consist of six echelon II units.

"We are proposing five directorates plus one secretariat, making a total of six echelon II units. The proposal is currently under discussion at the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB)," he said on Thursday.

He noted that the formation of the directorate general had passed several key stages, including the issuance of a letter from the Minister of State Secretariat to the Minister of PANRB instructing the acceleration of the process.
