Jakarta, Nov. 6 -- Human Rights Minister Natalius Pigai met with Sudan's Ambassador to Indonesia, Yassir Mohamed Ali, here on Thursday to discuss steps toward peace in Sudan.
The Ministry stated it is ready to provide assistance measures to support peace if the Sudanese government submits an official request through Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"From the Human Rights Ministry's side, if there is an official request from Sudan via the Foreign Minister, we can certainly take assistance steps," Pigai told ANTARA.
The assistance Minister Pigai referred to involves human rights-oriented peace efforts, including humanitarian aid and reconciliation support, especially for communities affected by the conflict.
