Indonesia, Oct. 11 -- Indonesia's Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has urged the Mataram City government to enhance waste management efforts to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment.
During a visit to the Sandubaya Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, on Saturday, Nurofiq said the city produces about 200 tons of waste daily, of which 40 tons are currently processed. Construction is underway to expand capacity to 120 tons.
"This still needs to be improved," he said.
The minister said the Sandubaya TPST is a well-functioning facility capable of processing 40 tons of waste per day. However, he reminded the local government to maintain the site's performance in handling waste from households...
