Jakarta, Nov. 1 -- Former Indonesian president Megawati Soekarnoputri has urged the international community to build a new global order founded on humanity, justice, and equality through the universal values of Pancasila.

Speaking at the International Seminar on the 70th Anniversary of the Asia-Africa Conference in Blitar, East Java, on Saturday, Megawati said Pancasila is not merely Indonesia's national ideology but a philosophy capable of bridging ideological, racial, and economic divides.

"The old world built upon colonialism and imperialism must be replaced by a just world," said Megawati, who also chairs the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), quoting from a party statement.
