Jakarta, June 26 -- Indonesia's Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad reaffirmed parliament's commitment to working with the government to mitigate layoffs.

"The Layoff Mitigation Task Force, the government and the DPR will hold regular meetings to coordinate efforts," he told a press conference at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Friday.

Speaking after a coordination meeting with the task force, Dasco said day-to-day coordination between the government and the DPR would be led by DPR Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal.

At the press conference, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi was announced as the chair of the Layoff Mitigation Task Force.
