Jakarta, Aug. 14 -- Indonesia's Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI) has proposed adopting a "green democracy" approach to governance to advance socioeconomic development, address environmental challenges, and adapt to changing conditions.

DPD RI Speaker Sultan B. Najamuddin presented the idea during the council's joint session with the House of Representatives (DPR RI), saying Indonesia faces a range of development challenges, including the high cost of democratic processes and the potential impacts of climate change.
