Jakarta, Sept. 17 -- Indonesia's Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin will welcome the aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi at Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta on Friday, Indonesian Navy Spokesman First Adm. Tunggul said.

"The aircraft carrier will arrive in Jakarta on Friday, September 18, 2026, and is scheduled to be welcomed by Defense Minister Gen. (ret.) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin," Tunggul said in a Navy statement here Thursday.

Senior military officials are also expected to attend, including TNI Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Adm. Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono.
