Jakarta, Aug. 26 -- Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) has deployed two portable water pumps to help extinguish forest and land fires in Nagan Raya, Aceh.

Abdul Muhari, head of BNPB's Data, Information, and Disaster Communication Center, said on Tuesday that the pumps are expected to accelerate firefighting operations on mineral land in the district.

BNPB reported that joint teams in the field are facing several challenges, including limited water sources, impassable roads for four-wheeled vehicles, and shifting wind directions that continue to spread the flames.
