Indonesia's BNN finds illicit substances in 1,716 e-liquid samples
Jakarta, Oct. 1 -- Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has found that 1,716 of 1,745 tested e-cigarette liquid samples contained narcotics or new psychoactive substances (NPS), the agency said.
BNN Chief Gen. Suyudi Ario Seto said in a press statement confirmed here Thursday that the findings highlighted a crucial issue requiring urgent attention in national efforts to eradicate drugs.
Suyudi presented the data during a meeting with Government Communications Agency (Bakom RI) Head Muhammad Qodari at BNN headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 29.
Based on testing conducted by BNN's Narcotics Laboratory Center through August 12, 2026, 1,716 of 1,745 e-liquid samples contained narcotics or NPS.
