Tangerang, Banten, July 31 -- Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita urged automakers to fulfill Rp21.2 trillion ($1.17 billion) in investment pledges under Indonesia's Low Carbon Emission Vehicle program, citing a shortfall in realized capital.

Speaking at the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in Tangerang on Thursday, Agus said the LCEV policy, launched in 2021, has expanded local supply chains but lagged investment commitments.

The LCEV program is part of Indonesia's broader effort to develop a more competitive automotive industry and expand its role in regional vehicle production and exports.
