Jakarta, Feb. 10 -- The Indonesian government has introduced a nationwide Work From Anywhere (WFA) scheme to manage the massive travel surge expected during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The policy, announced by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto here on Tuesday will take effect on March 16-17 during the outbound travel period and March 25-27 during the return flow.
Hartarto explained that the initiative is designed to optimize public mobility during one of the world's largest annual homecoming, while ensuring workers can continue their duties remotely
He stressed that WFA is not a holiday but a flexible arrangement, applying to both civil servants and private sector employees.
