Jakarta, Sept. 30 -- The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has emphasized that the calculation of hajj quotas for each province will once again follow legal provisions.

The policy aims to ensure that the national average waiting period for hajj is evenly distributed at around 26 to 27 years.

Deputy Minister of Hajj Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said that quota allocations among provinces have so far been considered inconsistent with existing regulations.

The Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) has repeatedly recommended that the government evaluate the quota calculation method.
