Jakarta, April 2 -- The Health Ministry continues to conduct surveillance and routine reporting from the field, as well as laboratory testing for precautionary measures, although no COVID variant BA.3.2, or Cicada, has been detected in Indonesia.

"As of now, the variant has not been found in Indonesia. The dominant variants in Indonesia are XFG at 57 percent, LF.7 at 29 percent, and XFG 3.4.3 at 14 percent, all with low risk," Head of the ministry's Public Communication and Information Bureau Aji Muhawarman said here on Thursday.

Media reports indicate that the Cicada COVID variant has been detected in around 20 countries and at least 25 states in the United States (US).
