Jakarta, Oct. 11 -- The Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry (KKP) confirmed that Indonesia can still export shrimp to the United States (US) despite tightened import regulations from US authorities.
Ishartini, Head of the Marine and Fisheries Product Quality Control and Supervision Agency, explained in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday that the tightening only applies to certain companies and certain regions.
Ishartini stated that a company in the Cikande Industrial Estate in Serang cannot export shrimp because it is on the rejection list following the discovery of suspected radioactive contamination of Cesium-137 in its products.
