Jakarta, Oct. 6 -- The Ministry of Tourism is promoting West Sumatra's rich gastronomic and Muslim-friendly tourism to participants of familiarization trips (famtrips).

"Through nature and cultural tourism activities in West Sumatra, participants can gain a deeper understanding of the culinary richness and the culture behind each regional specialty," said the ministry's Deputy for Marketing, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, in a written statement here on Monday.
