Jakarta, Aug. 5 -- Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar emphasized that strengthening Indonesia's Islamic economy requires a fully integrated ecosystem that is rooted in sharia compliance and designed to maintain public trust in the Islamic financial industry.

"If this ecosystem is managed transparently, the benefits to the public will be immense," the minister said after attending the "Shariah-Intelligence: Navigating the Future of Islamic Finance through AI and Digital Innovation" event in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He noted that while the economic potential of the Muslim community is vast, it has not yet been fully connected into a mutually reinforcing ecosystem.
