Jakarta, Aug. 18 -- The 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence should serve as a reminder of the need to strengthen the nation's sovereignty in the digital space, Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs Ismail has said.

"Technology must provide tangible benefits to the people, maintain unity, and strengthen our glory at the global level," he said in a statement on Monday.

He noted that, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to realize Indonesia Incorporated, the ministry is committed to building an inclusive, secure, and efficient digital ecosystem.
