Jakarta, July 11 -- Indonesia has strong potential to become a major player in palm oil-based bioenergy through innovation, downstream processing, and international cooperation with Russia and countries across the Eurasian region, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said.

"Through innovation, downstream processing, and international cooperation, we want the palm oil industry to serve not only as a driver of the national economy but also as part of the solution for energy security and sustainable industrial development," the minister said in a statement on Saturday.
