Jakarta, April 26 -- The Indonesian government has reiterated its call for the United Nations to conduct a thorough investigation into the death of Private First Class Rico Pramudia, a UNIFIL peacekeeper, following an incident in late March 2026.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahd Nabyl Achmad Mulachela said the government expresses its highest respect for Pramudia and is coordinating with UNIFIL to ensure the immediate and respectful repatriation of his body.
"Various medical measures were undertaken, but due to the severity of his injuries, he did not survive," he said.
Mulachela reaffirmed Indonesia's strong condemnation of the Israeli attack in Lebanon that killed the Indonesian peacekeeper.
