Jakarta, July 26 -- The Indonesian government is currently working on a presidential regulation to support the development of solar power plants (PLTS) in villages across the country as part of efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in energy.

Speaking at the Indonesia Net-Zero Summit 2025 in Jakarta on Saturday, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan highlighted that the regulation is expected to be finalized next week and that he will serve as chairman of a Task Force for Accelerating Self-Sufficiency in Food, Water, and Energy.

"We intend to build power plants that rely on solar panels with support of approximately US$100 billion worth of investment," he remarked.
