Jakarta, Aug. 27 -- Indonesia is preparing housing assistance for residents whose homes were damaged by an earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara, with repair grants ranging from Rp15 million to Rp30 million per unit, an official said Wednesday.

Acting Head of the Data, Information and Disaster Communication Center of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Berton SP Panjaitan said the amount would depend on the extent of damage to each home.

"Lightly damaged homes will receive Rp15 million, while moderately damaged homes will receive Rp30 million," Berton said in a statement compiled by the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom) in Jakarta.
