Indonesia, April 25 -- The Indonesian government has positioned the Red and White Fishing Village (KNMP) program as a strategic tool to elevate living standards by strengthening the blue economy.

"The KNMP program forms part of the national strategy to foster a sustainable ecosystem for the blue economy," said Marine Affairs and Fisheries Deputy Minister Didit Herdiawan Ashaf in a statement on Saturday.​​​​

He remarked on the initiative after visiting the Randu Putih Fish Auction Center in Probolinggo District, East Java, on Friday.
