Jakarta, Jan. 3 -- Indonesia's Culture Minister Fadli Zon has outlined the government's plan to prepare a history book documenting the struggle to defend the country's independence from 1945 to 1949.

"This year, we also plan to write a history book on an important period, namely what the Dutch call the revolutionary period, but which we describe as the war to defend independence, covering 1945 to 1949," he said during a talk show on Saturday.

Zon explained that the historical account will include events surrounding the proclamation of independence, Dutch recognition of sovereignty, the establishment of the United States of Indonesia, and the dissolution of the federal state leading to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
