Indonesia pivots digital strategy to drive economic growth
Jakarta, July 30 -- Indonesia is pivoting its digital strategy from simple network expansion to driving tangible economic growth, Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid announced.
Speaking Wednesday at the launch of the Indonesian Digital Infrastructure Roadmap 2026-2030 organized by the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Hafid declared that connectivity must deliver measurable social and economic value rather than just broader signal coverage.
"Connectivity must impact growth. Development must shift from coverage to meaningful connectivity," Hafid said in a statement on Thursday.
