Jakarta, June 1 -- The Indonesian government has pledged a comprehensive overhaul of its social assistance beneficiary database following findings by the National Economic Council (DEN) indicating that a substantial portion of aid may have been mistargeted.

Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said on Sunday that the findings were among the main reasons behind the government's decision to consolidate beneficiary data under the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) system to improve the accuracy of social assistance distribution.
