Jakarta, May 5 -- Indonesia outlined expanded military cooperation with Japan after signing a Defense Cooperation Arrangement (DCA), covering personnel exchanges, joint drills and maritime security, the Defense Ministry said.
"The agreement includes increased personnel exchanges, education and research, joint exercises, maritime security and disaster response cooperation," Defense Ministry spokesperson Brigadier General Rico Ricardo Sirait said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The DCA also opens opportunities for cooperation in defense equipment and technology, to be developed gradually based on each country's needs and national interests.
