Jakarta, Aug. 28 -- The Ministry of Trade recorded potential transactions worth US$128.51 million at the 27th Japan International Seafood & Technology Expo (JISTE) 2025 in Tokyo, held from August 20-22.
The ministry's Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, said on Thursday that more than 80 percent of the potential deals came from shrimp, seaweed, tuna, and processed tuna products.
"The positive response from Japanese buyers shows optimism for strengthening Indonesia's position in the global supply chain. Their consumption trends prioritize quality, food safety, and sustainability, which creates wider opportunities for us as a major supplier of tropical seafood," she stated.
