Jakarta, Aug. 25 -- Indonesia's Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, has voiced strong support for the government's plan to transfer Hajj and Umrah duties from his ministry to the Hajj Organizing Agency (BP Haji), saying the move would mark a strategic step toward improving services for pilgrims.

"Let us continue praying for the plan because its successful implementation can help the government manage Hajj services in a more concentrated manner through BP Haji. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs will focus more on religious and educational matters," he stated in Jakarta on Monday.
