Jakarta, Oct. 8 -- Indonesia's new Garuda School program aims to boost student interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said on Wednesday.
"We hope the Garuda School program will produce scientists and scholars across various fields, especially in STEM. Students nurtured under this initiative are expected to qualify for top national and global universities," Mu'ti said during the program's introduction at M.H. Thamrin Public High School in Jakarta.
He emphasized that strengthening STEM education is key to Indonesia's efforts to become a developed nation.
