Beijing, May 28 -- Indonesia renewed its commitment to global poverty alleviation initiatives as it assumed the role of deputy chair at the Global Partnership for Poverty Alleviation and Development (GPPAD), a forum initiated by China.

Indonesia shares the deputy chair position with Ivory Coast, Brazil, Pakistan, South Africa, and Uzbekistan, while China holds the chairmanship.

"It is a great honor for me to convey Indonesia's viewpoint regarding poverty alleviation. We share the same concern to strengthen inclusive development with China and other countries," Deputy Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Ahmad Riza Patria said.
