Jakarta, July 18 -- Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto invited Chinese companies to invest in the development of solar power plants with a total capacity of 100 gigawatts in Indonesia.

Hartarto extended the invitation during a bilateral meeting with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao in Shanghai on Friday evening.

The massive 100 GW solar target was initiated by President Prabowo Subianto to support Indonesia's energy transition and industrial downstreaming push, with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources aiming for full completion by 2029.
