Indonesia hosts 18-country Asian Open Water Swimming Championship
Denpasar, June 12 -- Indonesia will host the Asian Open Water Swimming Championship 2026 in Badung District, Bali, on June 13-15, welcoming 78 swimmers from 18 countries.
Indonesian Aquatics Federation (PB AI) Chair Harlin Erlianto Rahardjo said in Denpasar on Thursday (June 11) that Bahrain's confirmation of one athlete and two officials raised the number of participating countries to 18.
He noted that the championship would involve 127 individuals, including 49 officials, with Indonesia fielding four athletes for men's events and two athletes for women's competitions.
"Most participants are fascinated by Jimbaran Beach's beauty; some have already begun training," Rahardjo remarked, adding that trials were held on June 11-12.
